Download the native Windows app and set it up in about two minutes. No technical know-how required — just follow the steps below.
Install it in five steps
Go to the download page
In your browser, go to
fastmail.com/download.Download the Windows app
Under Desktop, click Download next to Windows (x64).
Run the installer
Open your Downloads and double-click
Fastmail-Setup.exeto run it.Choose who it’s for, then Install
Pick who to install it for, then click Install (approve the admin prompt if asked).
Finish and sign in
Leave Run Fastmail ticked, click Finish, and sign in.
Windows security prompts are normal here. If you see a blue “Windows protected your PC” screen, click More info → Run anyway. If a User Account Control box asks for permission, click Yes. Both are expected for any downloaded app.
Just pick Windows (x64). Virtually every modern Windows 11 PC is 64-bit, so that’s the right choice. There’s nothing else to figure out.
All users vs. just me? “Anyone who uses this computer” installs for everyone and needs admin permission; “Only for me” installs just for your account with no admin needed. Either is fine.
Signing in is covered separately. See the Signing In guide.
